Complete.
Whole
Satiation.
Full.
Too much.
Maxed out.
Plenty.
Content.
Sufficient.
Finality.
Provision.
Those were some of YOUR responses to my Facebook question last week.
I was surprised to see that several people feel a negative response when they think of this word. I guess I can see why. "Enough!" is used when boundaries are overstepped, limits are reached and patience is thin. Enough is powerful.
Okay, be honest. How many of you have been thinking about this movie?
This isn't exactly the type of enough I'm talking about. Although that was a cool movie.
For me, enough brings to mind something very different.
Replenishment.
Sustenance.
Promise.
The Lord tends to communicate with me in themes. Typically if there's something important He'd like me to think about, this important thing comes up everywhere. A lot. It's almost as if every time I turn my head, truth is there, flicking me in the forehead as if to say,
Are you paying attention?? Listen!
So okay, okay! This is me listening and leaning in.
Scarcity + Sacrifice = { more than } enough
A lack becomes a lot in the hands of the Creator. Truly! It's a pattern. And if this indeed true, this could change the very lenses with which we view our work, our future, our mission, our home life.
Over the next month we'll explore stories from Scripture and stories of people whose little became a whole lot. May we together be transformed by the power of { more than } enough.
